Web 2.0 tool

ESL Video – Learn English with Video
Mark Flannery

A Web 2.0 tool is an internet tool with which the user can interact and create content for others.  For EDET 703, students were asked to investigate some Web 2.0 tools and choose one to use to create a product. As an ESOL teacher, I wanted to find something that I could use with my students, particularly students with little to no English background.

ESL video allows users to take any video and add an online quiz that is created by the teacher which is embedded next to the video. There is also an option for the teacher to include a transcript, as well as notes to go along with the concept being quizzed.

I selected a video appropriate for lower level English language learners and chose to include simple comprehension questions though the questions can be adapted for reading, pronunciation, grammar or other topics as their is a lot of freedom to create the quizzes.
